Last Will & Testament of John Brandon

John Brandon, decd 4 July 1836

The execution of the last will and testament of John
Brandon, decd was duly proven by the oath of Johnston
Brandon and Unicy Brandon, two of the subscribing
_____ thereto and ordered to be recorded and is as
follows -

"In the name of God Amen
Be it remembered that I John Brandon of the County of Greene and State
of Tennessee, being weak in body, but of sound mind and memory,
blessed be Almighty God for the same Do publish this my last will and
Testament in manner and form following that is to say, First - I give to my
beloved wife Diana Brandon, one iron gray mare and two colts sorrels
one year old past a gray suckling colt, seven head of cattle there of which
is milch cows, twelve head of sheep and six good hogs for his meat , this
faul and twelve months, and six in the faul of 1837 and one sow and ____,
and also my plantation during her natural life or widowhood, but iff she
takes up with any other man, then the above named property to be sold
and divided equally among my several children adn the following property
I want sold to pay my just debts, and the overplus to be also divided
among my several children. Four head of horses, Viz. One gray mare
named gin,one black filly, one white mare, one gray filley, and several
head of hogs. One two horse waggon and a set of britch bands, one pair
of horse gear, all my household and kitchen furniture- I also give and
bequeth to my beloved wife Dinnah Brandon - And now I appoint my
father Thomas Brandon, Sr and Thomas Brandon, Jr. my administrators to
this my last Will and Testament, hereby revoking all former wills by me
made-

In ___ I have hereunto set my hand and Seal this 12th day of December
1825
