I cannot remember the last time a US radio story was reported in Europe, and not that I will be able to pick it up in Ireland anyway! But the new WCBS format will comprise "mainly music from 1964 to 1979, a sprinkling of oldies from 1955-1963 and hits of the 1980s" - or at least that is what they are saying. Dan Taylor and Bob Shannon will be returning to the station and Broadway Bill Lee has joined the roster. No mention I notice of Cousin Brucie Morrow however. The programmer incidentally will be Jeff Mazzei who was handling the web stream for CBS,FM since 2005. Some of the things he added, like the Specialty Weekends will transfer to FM, and they are talking about having "theme evenings" (whatever they may be). No mention however, if they will have live overnights though. In any event, I will still be only able to get it on the web. Of course I could always climb up on the roof with a large clothes-hanger. On second thoughts - at my age.... |
