On Wednesday July 11 between 7 and 10 PM, my mother went home to be with the Lord. She was a lovely woman who always had time for us. She will be deeply missed and all of her children loved her dearly. She was under hospice care at home here in Seattle for the last couple of years, and although limited by chronic pulmonary emphysema...continued to be an encouragement to others and touched many lives. Oh how she loved Jesus and quietly yet confidently shared that love with those who crossed her path. Her prayer was to be able to stay at home and not go into an assisted living or full nursing home situation. She also asked the Lord to take her in her sleep. I don't know exactly when she passed last night, because she drifted off to sleep on the sofa at home at around 7 local time and without a peep passed into the presence of the Savior. Her prayer was answered. Those who knew her are thankful for her life, for God's abundant mercies and love through this time, and for the encouraging words and prayers of many of you in recent months. I have often referred to Ultimate Oldies site visitors as 'family'. That is not an exaggeration. You are. Thank you, Bob |
