Jim wrot....

Incidentally, did you hear the Jimmy Jay Lettermen show. It was/is excellent - a revelation in some ways.

John replied:

No, Jim, I haven't!

Jim replies....

Well he has another one on Ultimate Oldies this week about the Beachboys, talking to Al Jardine. Great stuff.

John wrote....

I know exactly what you mean! Look at how long it took for the Cameo-Parkway material to be released, on CD. I'm sure some of who would have enjoyed it, are now deceased.

Jim replies

I know. I was a real Cameo fan - mainly Chubby and the Dovells. I really liked Len Barry's lead voice.

Anybody know where he is nowadays? Many years ago, somebody said he was a barman in a bar in Boston. Is that true? Great voice - could cut diamonds with it

Amazing about Capitol. I think when non music people got involved in the recording business, they could not care less what they had bought, and thought little of the people who had produced it.

To many of them, they might as well have been selling beans for all they cared.

And, dare I say it, a lot of that goes for people running radio stations today. If they thought Martians singing through their noses would make money - there would be Martians with sinuses every 30 minutes.

And John, before you start reminding me about "Martian Hop" - I did like that one!
