Bob - you said that this was your first weekly countdown from a '50's year. Let's have more!
Although I "barely" remember the late 50's, it was obvious from this countdown that rock still had yet to take over top 40 radio. Probably 75% of the songs on this countdown were more of the pop variety. Although pop songs have always appeared in the top 40, they would become less of a factor going forward as rock truly took over!
