Do it and have a great time. Don't expect the first to have a great turn out. I started a Friday night dance 5 years ago and now have 200 regulars at $5.00 each that show up almost every Friday. We have a live band and play nothing beyond 1969. It is truly an Oldies dance. The band cost us 700.00 and the excess monies, if any, are put back for those leaner nights. The dance hall is furnished by the local senior citizens center. Get other people involved and interested in your idea also. Why not check into live entertainment. There are a lot of great acts still around. I book a lot of groups in the southeastern states. Don't forget to advertise widely and more than enough. Jimmy Dee |
