Fleetwoods - nice group, love their version of "Tragedy". Nice to hear "Come Softly To Me" in stereo - never knew it existed.

Re "Abilene", I went to see a stage show in London some years back, called "The Patsy Cline Story", and who was doing the narration and singing some songs (including "Abilene") but George Hamilton 1V!

I always liked his voice.

He used to tour Ireland quite a lot in the 1960's, along with Hank Locklin, who semmed to be permanently here.

About the cars - when the Fleetwoods signed to Dolton, the label posed them in front of a Fleetwood. The group were too shy to embarrass the label bosses by telling them that they had actually been named after a telephone exchange!
