Subject: RE: Obama Wins Nobel Prize? |

Thanks Scott, I knew - it could not only be Kennedy. So now we can add Nixon and Reagan! After deep research (OK - ten minutes on Google), the only songs I could find about a US President, were all about either President Kennedy or President Nixon, Apart from "PT109" and "Abraham Martin & John", there is Brian Wilson's "Warmth Of The Sun", "He was a Friend of Mine," by the Byrds, "President Kennedy" by Ry Cooder, "In The Summer Of His Years" by Connie Francis, "The Day John Kennedy Died" by Lou Reed, "What The World Needs Now Is Love"/"Abraham, Martin & John" by Tom Clay, "Foreign Policy" by The Buckinghams (it was the flip side of "Susan") and I have at last remembered the Billy Joel song which mentioned Kennedy - it was called "We Didn't Start The Fire". Having found these ofr JFK, I typed "Nixon In Song" into Google, and came up with a site which listed all the following songs - most of which I have never heard. "Campaigner"-Neil Young So now that Scott has added Reagan - the search continues. But where is John now that I need him most? A song about Teddy Roosevelt? "Teddy Bear's Picnic" perhaps? |
