As Conrad Birdie from the musical Bye Bye Birdie. Of all the musicals that I went to see as a kid, this one, in my mind, was the best, because of the music. Okay, Ann "Legs" Margret was nice to look at, too! 1963 Soundtrack did very well on Billboard's charts! Looks like this was a joint venture for RCA and Columbia, though Columbia seems to have taken care of the musicians, using their Columbia Studio Orchestra, featuring the guitar work of Al "Bonanza" Caiola! RCA and Columbia provided the mixed recording engineer expertise. Not sure why this song wasn't reworked a little and released as a single for Jesse Pearson, on the RCA Records label! Good singer! Love the mellow opening to dynamic ending! Even with digitally remastered, 40th Anniversary Edition CD, feel the sound quality could have been better. No shoddy production here! Enhanced a bit...
