Funny: When collecting vinyl records, I would visit the Berlin Farmer's Market, in Berlin, NJ. There, in the open, you'd find Billy Harner's unused (new) 45's, on Open Records, for about $1.00/each. Like thirty years after he was famous in and around the Philly area! Then the internet became popular. So, they removed what was left of Billy, and keep them under lock and key!!! Billy continues to record, and even friends have GIVEN me his CDs. Sadly, even though he has fan all over the world over his early material, it was never officially released on CD! Told licensing is a dog! Sad! This is what makes me disappointed with past artists - rather than find and reissue the material that once made them famous, they record new material that seldom sells! Would LOVE to personally remaster it myself! John |
