Incidentally, I am looking for two tracks that you might know about....neither was as far as I know, ever legally released, but they were both played a lot on radio in the US.

I had them both once, but loaned them out for a radio program.....and you know what happens!

Linda Ronstadt & Elvis Presley: "Love Me Tender"

(Around 1978. Put together by a New York DJ - this took two separate versions of the song, and spliced them together into one version. There is a terribly poor imitation on YouTube, but the original sounded as though it had been done in the studio. Superb piece of tweaking and editing).

Jay & The Americans: Cara Mia

(Around 1966. Also put together by a DJ in New York - so that the long note at the end lasted about 60 seconds. Again brilliantly edited).

I had acetates of both of these, but they are long long gone.

Perhaps you have heard either or these?
