Strange I found the post. Just visiting the site. I saw Jimmy Dee just this past weekend at a regional record show. He's starting to show his age with a lot of silver hair and he walks with cane now. He was recognized browsing the records by another legendary Texas rocker Bobby Crown and then the autograph rush was on. Record collectors crowded around to get blank 45 sleeves signed. Kept Jimmy busy for at least 30 minutes. He and Bobby seemed to enjoy the visit with each other. He's booked to perform a September 30 show and rumor is he will announce his retirement during the show. It is not known if it will be his final show or if there are plans for another show being his last. It may all be a rumor anyway. Do you know he plays mostly jazz now but he can still do the old style rock. He is not as robust as he used to be and only sings a few songs during a show leaving most of the singing to others but he is still one of the best drummers you will ever see. He's still got class on or off stage. I've been a fan since the first time I saw him perform more than twenty years ago. He's one of the last of the early rockers still performing. The music business should give him and others like him some kind of award or something for all the years they have entertained so many.
