Thanks for reminding us about Dick Clark - as you so rightly and cogently put it - "The man who helped an entire generation of American music". I also remember Dick for insisting that black couples should be allowed dance on American Bandstand at a time when TV was not always open to such practices, and for remaining loyal to his 1950's and 1960's acts even when they were no longer profitable. A really decent guy - but then, he was brought up in the radio business by his family, so you would not expect anything else. And lovely to hear from you Jimmy.
