Nice info, Jim!!! Same message posted twice? Maybe a stereotype? :-) Here's what I discovered. Dot Records had NOTHING to do with the Hot Pastrami" 45 single version, they just distributed it for Arlen Records (Dartells signed to). Later, once so popular, Dot signed The Dartells on and rerecorded it for themselves (more $$$) in Hollywood! Nice to see Wikipedia updated the legal dispute about this (Dixie Cups) Iko, Iko song. Pretty heard anyone would believe they didn't know they were being recorded, especially when they overdubbed vocals, studio talk tells it all!! Anyway, not sure what this is, but nice with studio talk from the session that was recorded in mono and later dubbed to make stereo!! Best, |
