Subject: Virtual Tour Food For Thought |
![]() In 1996, Michael Quan, a very skilled local photographer, formatted 360 degree photos of the USS CONSTITUTION. They were done so remarkably well that this set is still in use today. We've seen 360 degree images of the Berlin, Germany based National Museum tug's engine room, deck gratings, overhead and bulkheads too. There were even little pulsating icons which allowed you to zoom in on certain pieces of the vessel's machinery. To view the one found in the USS CONTITUTION Virtual Tour link below, you will need the QuicktimeŽ plug-in. Upon opening, left click in the direction you want to turn and the picture will rotate in that direction. The graphics at this site also will allow you to move about from a topical position so that you can pick your destination from looking down but just above each of the three main deck plans. Could something along these lines be in the future for Steam Tug BALTIMORE? Who out there in cyberspace might be willing to help out a fine old lady who has just completed her first one hundred years of service become a virtual queen in her own right? Walt |
