Subject: Overhauling the Sidewheeler PY FUBBS on Oct 21st

Don,
Happy to know that you were persistant in your efforts to catch up with Captain Jas. Smith's sidewheeler PY FUBBS, which had already put out for the turning basin to meet the tug procession. Catching that 'ready' launch made all of the difference I should think.

You all looked mighty spiffy manning the rail as you cruised by the reviewing stand and into the Inner Harbour to complete your nautical parade last Saturday.

Tnx Agn for your committment. Everyone was seeking to know where all of the old time sailors came from. I told them.... so I told them.... "Up the coast a bit". Just think, your crew, the knot tyers of Vince Brenan's party and that of the JUPITER made Philadelphia well represented. And the City of Brotherly Love's Fireboat FRANKLIN was even in the Port of Baltimore to help celebrate the 300th and Steam Tug BALTIMORE'S 100th. Now that's saying something!

Should we press for effecting an 1860's black gang (steam engine room crew) scenario in time for the Steam Ship Historical Society of the Americas' convention slated to be held in Baltimore the first of next June?

Best Regards,
Walt
