Thank you for writing back, I do not know if the MD state maritime history branch was involved. I imagine this is entirely possible however.

Yes I do probably have some photos of the mission, or at least an article written in an Army Reserve news letter someplace...

Of course they will not give you the dirty little details as I have posted, but I will look for the information.

As far as South Street maritime museum is concerned, the stabilization and restoration of the artifact for display to the public, was supposed to be top priority at that time, but I have not heard any more information about the steam engine.

No events slated, but still waiting to be medically discharged from Walter Reed Army Medical Center.
Perhaps we could meet sometime if you like.

As you can see from my web page; Lightship Ministries.Org I worked aboard the Chesapeake for the Captain for six years,as a crewmen and later as a tugboat engineer for the Army, in Curtis Bay.

I sure do miss the waterfront from time to time.
