We expect other vessles to be in attendance including the Maryland Port Administration's MARY LYNN and one or both of Baltimore City's fire boats.

PORT OF BALTIMORE TRICENTENNIAL COMMITTEE NAMES STEAM TUG BALTIMORE AS ITS FLAGSHIP

-- 1906 Tug Baltimore Is Renewed for Second Half of Port's 300th Celebration Year; BALTIMORE Leaves Dry Dock Tomorrow After Being Refurbished --

WHAT: The Port of Baltimore Tricentennial Committee will host a press conference announcing the organization's designation of the Steam Tug BALTIMORE, the only operating coal-fired steam tugboat in all of North America and a National Historic Landmark, as its official
flagship for the remainder of the 300th celebration year and beyond.

The flagship embodies the entire essence of the Port of Baltimore Tricentennial Committee as one of the oldest functioning artifacts related to the history of the Port of Baltimore.

In addition, the committee will celebrate the refurbishing of the BALTIMORE in time for the second half of the Port's 300th celebration year. The former Baltimore City inspection tug will leave the General
Ship Repair Company's dry dock tomorrow after having its hull spot mended and renewed with three new coats of marine paint in preparation for its 100th anniversary party October, 20-21-22, 2006.

Speakers include:
-Mr. Roland Woodward, executive director, Baltimore Museum of Industry
-The Hon. Helen Delich Bentley, chairperson for Port of Baltimore Tricentennial Committee and maritime enthusiast who dedicated the Steam Tug BALTIMORE in 1993 when it received its National Historic Landmark status
